The Internet Resident Evil Movie Project!

Hello everyone!

So, i was on You Tube yesterday... and i saw that there was this "Internet Zombie Movie" project on there.
It is basically, a movie that someone is making that is mainly set in London, but there are these videovlogs throughout the movie from all over the world, made by people all over the world.

So, i thought:

Why not make "The Internet Resident Evil Movie"?

Okay, there have been several changes to the story. The Mansion part will be cut out of the movie, and we will just keep the Raccoon City part. I feel it is better if we just cut to the chase, with the outbreak below Raccoon City (in Birkin's lab) and then put all our main-characters in Raccoon City (all of them will have to be played by people living close to me, as they all meet in the end).

However, I still hope to stay as true to the game as possible... but still add much originality to it. I DON'T, and I repeat, DON'T just want this to be a simple re-telling of the games... but I want it to feel much like the games, to have the same feel.

Wesker will be in it, and a villain I made up called "Mona". Mona is an expert on tech and she is the one that created Nemesis, with much help from Wesker. Wesker is not the chief of all Umbrella, just a large part of Umbrella. And don't worry, Wesker (and Mona) will have his piece of action, at the end of the film. I am also thinking of adding Tyrant to the film, alongside Nemesis... but I am not sure if that will work (Because Tyrant requires MUCH more special-effects and make up than Nemesis, as he has those strange "tube-arms" and all that). If Tyrant is not in this film, he will most likely be in a possible sequel.

But you RE Fans all over the world can (as i mentioned earlier) participate with your version of what happens to YOU in Raccoon City in the mean time.

Now, who's in?

if you don't want to act, you can always be a Director, or a "Script helper"

And remember, the entire movie will be in English (no matter where you are from)... so don't send me a scene in Chinese, ok?

Updates:

Okay, so I have detailed outlined the movie and will start writing the actual script soon. I have a few ideas for a possible sequel too, but will not reveal anything quite yet.

Another update, Alexia Ashford (but much changed, she's not same as she was in the games) will appear at the end of the film and will (if one is ever made) serve as one of the main-characters in the sequel. Alexia will be a split person, she does what serves herself best... she's both "good" and "evil".

A FEW LITTLE SPOILERS:

Joseph Frost will have a MUCH bigger part in this "Resident Evil: Raccoon City". Leon and Ada will both be in the movie and in the same group of survivors, interacting with eachother. There will be a young girl, Crystal (that actually gets to take part in some of the action, unlike most children in these kind of movies), among the survivors. Claire, Jill, and Chris will have a couple of scenes together, while Jill and Chris are together for most of the film. In my movie, most of the Umbrella Soldiers sent into Raccoon City to fight the undead didn't make it out (alive), and there is a group consisting of three soldiers and a Police-officer that gather and try to escape Raccoon City alone. This group of four consists of Joseph Frost, Ada Wong, Medical-specialist Kendra, and Leon S. Kennedy (Leon isn't an Umbrella soldier, but joins them as they stumble onto eachother). This group of four later runs into Jill, Chris, and Claire. So, a little more than halfway through the film, all main-characters meet and try to escape The Zombie-infested city together.

A Videovlog is like... when you sit in front of the webcam and talk. In this movie, it could be you sitting in front of the webcam screaming out that zombies are attacking and stuff like that...

and regarding the competent thing, EVERYONE can participate! If you dont feel like your much of an actor, then help with the script and/or the story.

CURRENT AUDITIONS:

Leon Kennedy

Ada Wong

I need someone to play Leon and Ada in the Raccoon City side of the story. Of course, (no matter where in the world it is filmed) i will be supervising the creation and filming of the scenes involving those two through this forum.

Audition by either sending a Picture of yourself (preferably trying to look like the character in question) or a video just like that.

The two people portraying Ada and Leon will have to live in the same city... or at least be able to see eachother so they can film those scenes together (and get a cameraman).

If the Resi roles are cast by the time people want to join in, or if people don't want to be a Resi character but want to be in the project, maybe could we add videos of Raccoon city cops, scientists or civilians? It would be an interesting way of seeing the development of the virus, and could also cater for people who only want to do one or two videos rather than those who have the time to do several Leon/Ada videos. It would be a bit like reading those little account of other people that you get in the games in diaries and reports alongside the main characters.

People could talk about the origins of the virus (e.g. a scientist may mention an experiment that gave amazing results) and how the virus is spreading, what Raccoon officials are doing about it etc.

It would build up quite a rich Resi 'scrapbook'

And should it all be hosted on one channel or make a website with links to the episodes?

it won't be a RE Scrapbook, it will be like a normal Resident Evil movie with a large part of the story taking place in The Mansion, but with videovlogs and scenes of civillians, cops, scientists back in the city.
And of course, there will also be the Ada/Leon and Claire scenes.

It will probably be quite a long movie... but i intend to make it as a movie, not episodes.
and who knows? Maybe, once we are finished... there is a sequel lurking around the corner (NEMESIS!!!)

That's actually quite good, when i think about it.

Later in The Movie, when all of Raccoon City has been "infested" with the virus... it could reach outside into the surrounding forests and such (near The Arklay Mountains).
So your surroundings could be feautured in for example, a scene showing The Virus slowly spreading beyond Raccoon City and into the surrounding areas?

and as you have already proved quite good with such stuff, you could help me with the script also.

Yea, a civillian living in the outskirts of town could be just your part.

I, myself, am probably too young for any role.
unless there is some male character in the RE universe around the age 13-15-16
