Hello.

I am playing split-screen with a friend on the ps3, but he is not able to buy anything. How do I fix this?

I used to have a 360 and there was no problem wiht this.

I have the same problem too when playing split screen. I'm not sure if there's a way to fix it though, I imagine someone might be able to better answer this question for you.

On the xbox 360, I believe you are able to sign in to two different accounts at the same time with the splitscreen, so both can earn money and buy items. You cant do this with the PS3, its connected to only one account, and everything earned stays on that account. It sucks, but you just have to buy everything and move it over to him.

If you are able to, I would recommend playing the Co-op online. Splitscreen just causes headaches.

Its about being social...

And I think it was easier to get the upgrades on xbox since you only had to buy for one.
