Well, you see some of those games are... well famous for being the worst Resident Evil games. And some we just throw into general discussion. We'd like to place them all but that would be too many sections.

Well, I wouldn't exactly say they are needed. Too many boards will clutter the forums, and many of the ones you mentioned will probably be empty due to lack of interest. There is a general RE board where you can discuss the other, less-mainstream games.

RE Umbrella/Darkside chronicles got fairly positive reviews and were great games. Resident Evil Outbreak and Outbreak File #2 were also good games, but received mixed reviews from critics. Well as for the Outbreak and Survivor games, this forum mostly deals with the original/main RE series. Now for the Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles, when someone has a problem or a topic about one of those games, it either goes in the RE General Discussion category or under the original game title that the particular question/discussion is directed towards.

Yes because we were having a lot of threads like "What would you like to se in the next RE game" e.t.c but not a single thread for the games you mentioned above. There's a sticky thread for Umbrella or Darkside chronicles in the general RE section and noone has posted for ages.

Well if there were more people wanting a separate section for those games the Administrators would probably do something, but it seems that you are the first person who asks this.

Outbreak and Outbreak File #2 are both POSSIBLY canon games. And Gun Survivor 1 and Gun Survivor 4 are canon games. So they are main games.

Resident Evil Outbreak is usually seen as a secondary RE series because it basically has nothing to do with the main story, apart from occuring in Raccoon City. It's mainly just comprised of scenarios, there's no plot, and so it is not seen as part of the original series.

RE UC and DC aren't completely canon either. Capcom has always sucked at filling in the blanks. By that logic, RE1 isn't canon because neither Jill or Chris's scenario is completely canon. There were also things in RE2 that made it look different than RE3, but they were still taking place in the same city at the same time. And Outbreak has a plot, play the game and complete the scenario's and you'll see. Oh, and also, Gun Survivor 1 is canon, Gun Survivor 2 is a dream Claire had, Gun Survivor 3 is a dinosaur shooter that has nothing to do with RE, and Gun Survivor 4 is canon. http://residentevil.wikia.com/Resident_Evil:_Survivor

Capcom's screwed with this series so much I'm sure that even they don't know what's canon and, unless I'm mistaken, I used that word not once in any of my previous posts.

The point is that when people refer to the main timeline/series they're referring to the games mentioned in my last post - with the addition of RE0 which I somehow overlooked before. Gun Survivor and Outbreak are regarded as spin-off series' no matter how canon you believe them to be - even your own source, might I add, refers to them as spin-offs.

I don't particularly like the Outbreak games myself, but I accept the fact that there's a possibility that they COULD be canon.

Somethings in Outbreak are incompatible with the "main" games, but it doesn't mean they cannot be considered. I think it's open for each one to take them as canon or not. I don't think they're canon.

i dont really think its canon...mainly cuz it doesn't conflict with the main storyline(if it does i didnt notice seein as i never finished... i thot it'd b cool cuz its normal citizens with next to no experiance in a life/death situation...unfortunately, the controls & becoming infected irritated me 2 no end

Maybe it's what I said about what most people refer to when they say 'main series'...poll some of the users here and on other RE forums if you don't believe me, go to different RE-informational websites if you think I'm wrong but the main series is widely considered to be comprised of RE0, 1, 2, 3, CV, 4 and 5 with the occasional addition of Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles and the RE Make. I'm sure there are a few others who take it to the depth you have but most don't.

What am I wrong about, dear? Please explain it to me. I'm not trying to be difficult but I would like to understand...how are these threads you mentioned needed? All of the topics you've mentioned can be discussed in the RE General Discussion thread and, if you take the time to look, some of those topics have been covered and have fallen to the wayside because of lack of interest or haven't even been touched on at all. There's no demand for it and so it is not needed and, at this point, the addition of so many new threads would do nothing more than clutter the boards.

It's not a different series, the name 'Resident Evil'/'Biohazard' is still there. Rather you accept them to be canon or not, they're still Resident Evil games. It's hard to dedicate a forum to something, only having the games that you in particular don't give a **** about and/or don't think are part of the series to be broken down into one forum. That's exhibiting personal preference and laziness. And Outbreak isn't an entirely different game, it takes place in some of the same areas other games took place in, and it even takes place in the same city as the other games, at the same time as well. Capcom has always ****ed up with filling in the blanks, like Chris's and Jill's scenarios in RE 1, neither of them are completely canon on their own, and nobody knew what was truly canon until the files in RE5 were added. All I'm saying is, if you're going to dedicate a forum to something in particular, cover everything and don't just shove what you didn't bother covering in a 'General Forum'. Either way, I'm done here. I'm not wasting my time arguing with people I don't even know over something my mind is already set in stone over.
